How you describe your work to a kid: I help people buy and sell companies and buildings.
Diversity hero: Katherine Johnson, the brilliant African-American NASA mathematician who broke ground in the male-dominated, racially intolerant environment in the South where I grew up.
Why you serve on the diversity committee: I was raised in the segregated South, participated in civil rights marches in the 1960s to change that, and ever since have recognized how important diversity is to our society, our business and our individual lives.
Personal goal in five years: To be retired and doing volunteer work.
